The Maritime Trainers Guild (MTG) will mark its 15th Foundation Day with a high‑profile conference on 1st August at Bharat Ratnam, Mumbai, bringing together trainers, academicians, and maritime professionals to debate the future of seafarer education.
With the theme Transforming Maritime Education: Fuels, Faculty & Digital Tools, the conference will examine how the industry’s shift to alternative fuels, faculty empowerment, and digital integration is reshaping training frameworks. The event aims to inspire collaborative strategies that ensure maritime education remains globally competitive and responsive to rapid technological change.
The conference highlights two Panel Forums that willanchor the discussions:
- Preparing Seafarers for Multi‑Fuel Operations — exploring training strategies for ammonia, methanol, LNG, and other transition fuels, with emphasis on safety protocols and vessel design
- Faculty, Simulators & Training Resources — focusing on faculty development, advanced simulators, and resource integration to strengthen training capacity
It also features two Keynote Insights presentations:
- AI‑Enhanced Training — on balancing digital tools with hands‑on practice to avoid over‑reliance on simulators
- Adapting to Changing Technologies — examining how curricula must evolve with automation, digitalization, and emerging vessel technologies
