The Three Bees Research Foundation (TBRF) commemorated the International Day of the Seafarer 2026 with a strong message of environmental stewardship, youth empowerment, and maritime collaboration.
Held in Sector 44‑C, Chandigarh, the event aligned with the International Maritime Organization’s theme “Carrying World Trade. Carrying the Risks.” – a reminder of the courage and resilience of seafarers who sustain global trade despite piracy, geopolitical tensions, pandemics, and war‑risk zones.
Capt. K.S. Rai, Co‑Founder of TBRF, paid tribute to seafarers worldwide, calling them the “silent brigade that powers global trade.” The foundation underscored the sacrifices of millions who ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods across oceans.
Continuing its flagship Greener Earth Campaign, TBRF conducted its sixth annual plantation drive, planting 50 native and ecologically significant species including Neem, Peepal, Banyan, Sheesham, Amla, Gulmohar, and Arjuna. The initiative reflects a steady growth in participation since 2021, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to sustainability.
Since 2015, TBRF has mentored over 33,985 maritime aspirants and trained 242+ seafarers across disciplines, maintaining a 99% satisfaction rate. Its grassroots outreach programmes introduce students to maritime culture, inland waterways, and diverse career paths in merchant shipping, offshore, cruise, culinary, and shore‑based sectors.
The foundation also supports national initiatives such as Maritime India Vision 2030, Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, and the “Sagar Mein Samman” campaign promoting gender diversity in maritime careers.
Recognising the need for broader impact, TBRF invited shipping companies, port authorities, training institutes, unions, and CSR‑focused corporates to partner in environmental sustainability, career awareness, and youth skill development.
Capt Rai summed up the vision: “This is not just about trees or training. It is about nurturing Green Minds and Blue Futures.”
