AD Ports Group has signed a strategic agreement with CMA CGM Group and CMA Terminals Khalifa Port to develop inland intermodal logistics links across the UAE and the wider Gulf region, marking a significant step toward integrating maritime and inland supply chains.

The partnership focuses on extending cargo movement beyond Khalifa Port by connecting it to a growing network of rail-linked inland container depots, dry ports, and logistics hubs. The initiative aims to create a seamless flow of goods from port to inland destinations, enhancing efficiency and reducing congestion at gateway terminals.

Under the agreement, CMA CGM—holding a 70% stake in CMA Terminals Khalifa Port—is positioning the facility as more than a conventional container terminal. Instead, it is being developed into a fully integrated logistics gateway capable of feeding cargo directly into industrial zones and consumer markets across the UAE. By linking maritime services with inland distribution networks, the partners aim to strengthen supply chain resilience and provide greater routing flexibility for shippers.

The cooperation also explores extending connectivity beyond the UAE, with potential rail-linked corridors reaching into neighbouring markets such as Oman and Saudi Arabia. This expansion is expected to support regional trade flows while offering exporters and importers more diversified logistics options.

For AD Ports Group, the agreement brings CMA CGM on board as its first global shipping line partner within its inland logistics network, reinforcing its strategy to connect ports with economic zones and industrial clusters. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance the UAE’s logistics infrastructure, supporting industrial growth and improving cargo accessibility.

Since its inauguration in December 2024, CMA Terminals Khalifa Port has emerged as a key hub for international carriers. This latest collaboration further strengthens its role as a central node in a multi-modal logistics ecosystem, designed to meet evolving global trade demands through integrated sea-land connectivity.
