Marine risk is evolving faster than the clauses that govern it. In an industry where global trade is being reshaped by geopolitics, technology, complex supply chains, and increasingly sophisticated fraud, professionals are seeking sharper tools to navigate uncertainty. NeoProEd’s Navigating Currents programme, accredited by the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) and supported by Tolani Maritime Institute, is designed precisely for that frontier.

Unlike traditional courses that revisit fundamentals, Navigating Currents is built for seasoned professionals who already understand marine cargo insurance. Its focus lies in what is changing — from digitalisation and emerging asset classes to fraud detection and multinational program architecture. As the programme highlights, “Mastering clauses is table stakes now. What is being redrawn is everything around it.”

The program’s strength lies in its practitioner‑led approach. Every session is taught by industry experts who have navigated real risks, claims, and disputes. Case‑study‑based learning ensures participants engage with practical scenarios rather than abstract theory. With faculty drawn from London, Singapore, New York, and India, the program offers a truly global perspective.

The curriculum spans five modules. It begins with The New Marine Risk, exploring how data, AI, and technology are reshaping risk assessment, alongside exposures from electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and renewable energy cargoes. The second module, The Trade & Documentation Chain, dives into bills of lading, letters of credit, and the growing threat of documentary fraud.

When things go wrong, the third module examines jurisdictional complexities, cargo disputes, general average, recoveries, and lessons from mega marine claims. The fourth module, Managing Risk at Scale, takes an actuarial lens to portfolio management and multinational program structuring. Finally, learning moves beyond the desk: two days of immersive training at a premier maritime institute, where participants connect insurance risk with the physical realities of ships, cargo, and operations.

The faculty roster reads like a who’s who of marine risk. Neil Roberts of Lloyd’s Market Association, Charles Smith of Clyde & Co LLP, Capt Rahul Khanna of Allianz, and Veith Huesmann of IUMI headline the global experts. They are joined by specialists from QBE, Markel International, Marsh India, and A.P. Moller‑Maersk, among others. Programme Captain Sibesh Sen, with over 36 years in general insurance and marine risk, anchors the initiative.

The 2026 cohort runs October–November, with sessions scheduled on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The fee of ₹49,000 plus GST includes accommodation for the two‑day in‑person immersion. For marine professionals across underwriting, claims, broking, shipping, logistics, and corporate risk management, Navigating Currents offers a rare chance to engage with the next wave of risk and resilience.

NeoProEd, co‑founded by Sumeet Darak, Sneha Gokarn, and Yashesh Sampat, positions itself as a practitioner‑led, industry‑neutral learning institution. With accreditation from LIBF and support from Tolani Maritime Institute, Navigating Currents is more than a program — it is a bridge between industry and academia, preparing marine leaders for risks that were barely visible a decade ago.

In a sector where currents never stand still, NeoProEd’s programme ensures professionals are equipped not just to keep pace, but to lead.
