Mumbai Port’s history dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization, with maritime activities thriving under various rulers, including the Marathas and the British. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, revered as the Father of the Indian Navy, established Bombay as a strategic naval base for shipbuilding, trade, and defence in the 16th century.
Progress and Development
Under the guidance of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Shipping Minister, and the leadership of Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME (I/c) Hon’ble Chairperson, and Shri Adesh Titarmare (IAS) Hon’ble Dy.
