V.Group, a leading global ship manager and marine services provider, has inaugurated its expanded office in Chennai, India, reinforcing its commitment to the region. This strategic move strengthens V.Group’s ability to engage with customers and seafarers, building on its 40-year history in India.

The state-of-the-art office brings together over 200 colleagues under one roof, supporting V.Group’s crewing, seafarer recruitment, ship management, decarbonisation, and digitalisation operations, as well as finance and IT functions. The Chennai office also houses V.Group’s Operations Support Centre, overseeing 400 vessels globally.

Chennai’s significance as one of India’s oldest and most important ports makes it a vital hub for V.Group. The new office consolidates the company’s presence by merging two existing offices, enhancing its ability to serve clients and seafarers in the region.

“We’re excited to better serve our Indian clients and seafarers with this new office,” said Mario Moretti, Managing Director, V.Ships Asia. “It’s a testament to our regional ambitions, providing a stronger platform for efficient, sustainable, and safer operations.”

Sriram Gopalakrishnan, Global Shared Services Director – Mumbai, Chennai & Manila, added: “India is a crucial maritime hub, and expanding our presence here is a natural step. We’re committed to supporting our customers through increasing market complexity, cementing our position as their trusted Partner of Progress for Everything at Sea.”
