The Three Bees Research Foundation (TBRF), a Chandigarh-based NGO, is making waves in the maritime industry by empowering youth and promoting environmental sustainability. Founded by Master Mariners and Chief Engineers with over 34 years of global sailing experience, TBRF has been conducting outreach seminars across Punjab and North India, covering over 90 schools. The organization’s mission is to make maritime careers a choice driven by passion, not chance.
TBRF’s efforts have yielded impressive results, with a near 99% success rate in placing youth in high-potential maritime roles. The organization has trained 130+ seafarers and mentored 200-300 young aspirants since 2015. Recently, TBRF collaborated with the Director General of Maritime Administration (DGMA) to conduct a Maritime Outreach Awareness program in PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Sec 31, Chandigarh.
As part of its “Greener Earth, Bluer Future” campaign, TBRF organized its fifth annual plantation drive on June 25, 2025, aligning with the IMO theme “My Harassment-Free Ship” and World Maritime Day’s vision “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity.” The organization is committed to supporting the Government of India’s Maritime Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
“We aim to shape green minds and blue futures,” says Capt. K.S. Rai, TBRF Co-Founder. With its innovative approach to maritime awareness and green initiatives, TBRF is inspiring a new generation of maritime professionals and promoting environmental sustainability.
