In a significant development for Indian seafarers, the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) collaborated with officials from the British High Commission to conduct a specialized training and awareness session for Mumbai airport managers on 01st July.
This initiative comes on the heels of IndiGo’s launch of its first long-haul route from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam, which is expected to increase the number of Indian seafarers traveling on this route.
The training session, attended by representatives from major airlines including Air India, IndiGo, Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways, aimed to streamline airport procedures and enhance travel experiences for Indian seafarers.
Capt Daniel Joseph from DG Shipping addressed the session, providing clarity on key issues related to seafarer documentation and travel.
