Ganpat University, in collaboration with GES GUNI Education Services FZ-LLC, successfully hosted the International Maritime Summit 2025, themed “Future of Global Maritime 5Ds: Digitalisation, Decarbonisation, Diversity, Design, and Development,” on June 12, at the Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel in Dubai. The summit, supported by esteemed organizations including the Indian Institute of Freight Forwarders, ICS Middle East branch (Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers), and SEPC India, brought together industry experts to discuss the future of maritime sector. The event’s grand success was made possible by the Platinum Partnership of Avid Marine International, along with valuable contributions from HSBC, Best Marine, ARI ZEN, and The Naval Connection.
The Summit drew substantial participation, with over 500 industry professionals from UAE-based companies attending in person. Furthermore, the event garnered significant online engagement, with over 2,000 participants from more than 11 countries globally tuning in virtually.
This landmark event brought together global thought leaders, industry experts, start-ups and Maritime industry professionals to explore and discuss the evolving future of the global Maritime Industry with reference to the 5D revolutions namely Digitalisation, Decarbonisation, Diversity, Design and Development.
The Hon. President and Patron in Chief of Ganpat University, Padma Shri Ganpatbhai Patel blessed the event with his august presence online. His Excellency, Mr. Satish Kumar Sivan, the Hon. Consulate General of India, Dubai graced the event as a Chief Guest and Shri Deependra Singh Bisen Honorable Deputy Director General of Shipping marked his presence as a Guest of Honour, Sir Capt. Ibrahim Ahmad AlBlooshi Executive Director – Dubai Ports Authority and Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki Hon. President, University of Dubai adorned the event with their esteemed presence as special guests.
The inaugural ceremony was also blessed by the august presence of Capt AlBlooshi; Shri Bisen; Dr Tayeb Kamali – Hon. Chairman, Board of Trustees, Abu Dhabi School of Management; Dr Bastaki; Mr Pravin Kirolikar – Managing Director, GOLTENS, Dubai Branch, Capt. The dignitaries from Ganpat University included Dr Mahendra Sharma, the Hon. The event also witnessed the unveiling of a Book on the case studies of Top UAE Corporates, a brochure of an upcoming International Conference and the brochure of an International Case Study Workshop.
On this occasion Ganpat University also signed Letters of Intent (LOI) with Indian Institute of Freight Forwards and Mr Gagan Deep Raj Pal Katyal, Director, Avid Marine International which aim to strengthen maritime education through joint curriculum development and skill enhancement programmes.
The Maritime Summit 2025 featured three high-impact panel discussions that were central to the event’s exploration of the future of Global Maritime Industry. The first panel, discussion was titled “Decarbonization in the Marine Industry – Green Energy & Sustainability”, the second panel discussion was on “Digitalisation and Skill Development in Marine Industry” and the third panel discussion was focussed on “Gender Diversity and Workforce Inclusion in the Maritime Industry”.
The event closed with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all the speakers, sponsors, and participants for their contributions to a successful summit.
