In a remarkable achievement for Maritime innovation, Executive Group of Companies, has received the prestigious ClassNK Innovation Endorsement in the Product & Solution category. This recognition is for its groundbreaking “Ship Energy Efficiency Monitoring System” (SEEMS). Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) led this Synergistic project.
SEEMS, an indigenous and cost-effective solution, was conceptualized, designed, built, and deployed by SIMS in collaboration with Arc Marine. It has been successfully operational since May 2023 on a vessel owned by K Line (India), managed by Executive Ship Management. The system is a unique fusion of hardware and sophisticated software algorithms that aims to maximize onboard energy efficiency while reducing fuel wastage.
This innovative product stands apart due to its six unique objectives, positioning it as the only solution capable of identifying and addressing all major fuel loss areas onboard a vessel. SEEMS delivers real-time data through an intuitively designed dashboard, offering operators critical insights into the ship’s operational and maintenance parameters. This allows for timely decision-making to enhance fuel efficiency and ensure minimal CO2 emissions per ton-mile of cargo transported.
By focusing on key energy loss areas, SEEMS helps achieve optimal Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) scores, which are vital for a vessel’s environmental and operational performance.
The endorsement from ClassNK, a globally respected classification society, adds to SIMS’ impressive R&D portfolio, which includes three patents from other projects over the last decade. This achievement firmly establishes Executive Group of Companies as a leader in maritime innovation, committed to advancing sustainable practices in global shipping.
