Empowering Youth for a Global Future
Ganpat University, in association with the GIME Foundation and the Sector Skill Councils of India, hosted the Skill India Conclave 2024 on the theme of Empower, Excel and Employ, a transformative event aimed at empowering India’s youth through skill development partnered with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, SAS, NAMC-W, Stratasys, ONGC, IBM and ARI Simulation. Held under the theme Empower, Excel, Employ, the conclave brought together eminent stakeholders including educators, government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, and students to celebrate the nation’s progress in skilling and upskilling young talent under the vision of Hon. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendrabhai Modi to support the nation’s initiative of Skill India.
The conclave inaugurated by Hon. Chief Minister of Goa Dr Pramod Sawant as the Chief Guest with a keynote address, recognizing the vital role that skills play in shaping the future workforce of Goa and Nation. The speech highlighted the leadership of Ganpat University Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Pro Chancellor of Ganpat University, for his unwavering commitment to skilling and innovation. Under his guidance, Ganpat University has become a hub of educational excellence, advancing numerous initiatives that have positively impacted thousands of young learners. Acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Ganpat Patel, President of Ganpat University, the address lauded his dedication to empowering the youth of Bharat. His philanthropic efforts, particularly in Goa, have created new pathways for skill development, enabling young Indians to thrive in both local and global markets.

Hon. Chief Minister of Goa has also welcomed Ganpat University in Goa as the LoI for setting up the university has been already issued to them and also expressed his best wishes for the GIME Foundation to manage Goa Maritime School.
The event has received the best wishes from Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel and His Excellency Consulate General Jamil Al Balushi from the Sultanate of Oman.
Pro Chancellor Ganpat University Dr Mahendra Sharma has welcomed all the dignitaries and participants with a welcome address and shared the Ganpat University’s journey and remarkable contribution in the area of Skill Development. Dr Sharma has also shared the vision of making Goa a skill capital of the Nation. The conclave was also virtually witnessed by Dr Ganpat Patel, President of Ganpat University with his Presidential Speech from USA, Shri Prakash Jani BoG Member of the Ganpat University has also addressed the august gathering. The BoG Members of Ganpat University Ms. Rita Patel, Shri B S Patel have also graced the event virtually from the USA and motivated the Skill Conclave.
Meet the CEO panel was graced by All Sector Skill Councils of India’s CeOs discussing the various opportunities in Skilling Indian youth to meet the global challenges and requirements. Dr Mahendra Sharma -Pro Chancellor – Ganpat University, Shri Ajay Kumar Raina – Group General Counsel, Director and COO NSDC International, Shri Sunil Kumar Marwah – CeO Food Industry and Capacity Skill Industry Sector Skill Council, Shri Debadatta Mishra – CeO Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council, Dr Swapna Mishra – CeO Textile Sector Skill Council and Shri Saleem Ahmed – Senior Vice President – Electronics Sector Skill Council has shared the vision for skilling India. They emphasised the importance of collaboration between academia and industry, particularly through partnerships with the Sector Skill Councils of India. These partnerships ensure that skill development remains relevant to industry demands, providing students with practical training and knowledge that make them globally competitive.

Gaonkar, Director & Ex-Officio Joint Secretary, Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Goa as the panel discussion on “Enabling Manufacturing Capabilities through Skilling and Making It Globally Competitive,” moderated by Pro Vice Chancellors, Dr. Saurabh Dave and Dr. R.K. Patel, brought together industry leaders from various sectors. The panellists shared insights into critical skill gaps, challenges, and opportunities within India’s manufacturing industries. The key takeaway was the unanimous agreement on the importance of bridging the skills gap through industry-academia partnerships, government initiatives, and technological integration to ensure a future-ready workforce that can compete on a global scale.

Key themes included the integration of data analytics, simulation technologies, and AI into workforce training, as well as the essential role of collaboration between industry, academia, and government in preparing a resilient, skilled workforce. The panellists emphasised the importance of continuous learning, mentorship, and innovative partnerships to ensure India remains competitive on the global stage while advancing service excellence.
Dr. Sankha Dip Das – Scientist (Meity), Mr Rahul Pandita, Dr L Jyotishkumar, President AMSI, Dr Kavya Shree, President Indian Women for 3D Printing, Dr Anil Kumar DGM ISRO, Ms Ayushi Bhan – Materialise, Shri Soham Kelekar President Madkai Industrial Estate moderated by Joint Directors, NAMC, Dr Vikram Patel and Prof Kalpesh Patel had discussion on “Innovating with Additive Manufacturing: Preparing a Skilled Workforce for Industry 4.0” took place in Goa during the Additive Manufacturing Symposium supported by Meity – Government of India. The event brought together leaders from various sectors, including aerospace, healthcare, academia, and government, to explore the advancements in 3D printing and its integration into Industry 4.0. Panellists discussed key issues such as the growing importance of skilled labor in additive manufacturing (AM), industry-academia collaboration, and AM’s potential to revolutionise fields like space exploration, healthcare, and sustainable manufacturing. The symposium highlighted the need for digital proficiency, policy support, and workforce development to ensure India’s leadership in the global manufacturing landscape. The national centre of additive manufacturing of the Government of India is housed at Ganpat University.
