In a rare display of skills and watchfulness, the crew aboard the tanker vessel MT Global Beauty successfully rescued two fishermen discovered adrift in the open seas in the waters off the Sri Lankan coast last Saturday, August 24, 2024.
According to reports the MT Global Beauty had arrived at Colombo Srilanka from Khorfakkan UAE and was at anchorage.
The spokesperson stated, “On 24 August 2024 at 14:50 hrs Sri Lankan local time, the Officer on watch saw two fishermen floating near our vessel on starboard side and adhering to the norms the officer in turn informed the port control. The port control officials advised us to rescue and take the fishermen onboard, later to be picked up by the Srilankan Navy from our vessel.”
At 1500 hrs the crew under the leadership of Capt. Gurpinder singh, rescued the fishermen taking them onboard. In a short while around 1620 hrs the Srilankan Navy boat was alongside the Global Beauty and in about ten minutes of time the Navy boat departed taking the two fishermen along with them.
The vessel is owned and o perated by Glory International FZ LLC(UAE). The managing Director Capt Jugwinder Singh Brar (juggie brar) has also acknowledged the rescue efforts of its crew team members.
